General Meeting

On the second Thursday of each month, PT SLUG holds its general meeting. Each meeting features a guest speaker, who offers interesting information on Macintosh or related topics. Following the meeting, SLUG members will be available to answer questions. Meetings are at 7:00 p.m. at the Tri Area Community Center. Call Gary Estes 732-4523 for details.

Mac Programs SIGMac Programs SIG

Our Mac Programs SIG (special interest group) which meets on the third Friday at the WSU computer lab, covers programs that come free with the Mac, such as Address Book, Preview, iCal, iPhoto, iTunes, Stickies, TextEdit, Widgets, and many more. Photoshop SIGDigital Media SIG

Our Digital Media SIG is focused on mainly on photography related programs. In this SIG we cover photo enhancement and effects with a number of programs including iPhoto and Photoshop Elements along with elements of digital photography. Other media editing programs like iMovie will get coverage, too. The SIG meets monthly on the fourth Friday at the WSU computer lab. PT SLUG Library

The PTSLUG library offers books to members who pay a one-time fee of $5.00. We have a large collection of Macintosh-related books from O'Reilly Publishers, including the popular Missing Manual Series. There are also titles on Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and iWork along with other volumes on creative programs. In addition, we have a number of titles from Peachpit publishing.

Below is a partial list of books available from the lending library. Books which have been loaned to members can be recalled after a reasonable length of time. Contact the librarian if you are looking for a specific title. This listing updated as of 01/25/2010.

We ask that members who are first to receive a new book do a review of the publication for PTSLUG, to be posted on the Reviews page. 

The library is now located in a locker at the Tri-Area Community Center and available to members who attend the regular monthly general meetings.
