PT SLUG Special Interest Groups: (SIGs)

Macintosh Programs Workshop
The intermediate level Mac Programs Workshop Special Interest Group (SIG) will start up again on May 21st. The computers have been moved at WSU and the new space provides room for 8 WSU iMac desktops plus space for 4 people who can bring their own laptops. The regular date for the workshops is the third Friday monthly at 7 p.m. The workshops are free, but reservations are required. An email announcement will be sent out in advance covering the topics and instructions on how to sign up. Priority is given to current PTSLUG members—if space permits, members of the public may attend. If you would like to join PTSLUG or are not certain if your dues are current, please contact PTSLUG treasurer Joe Braun.

Introduction to the Mac Workshop
In March, PTSLUG started a new SIG called the Introduction to the Mac Workshop. It is offered on the fourth Friday of the month in the new WSU computer room at the WSU Jefferson County Extension in the Shold Business Park, Port Hadlock at 7 p.m. The workshop is limited to 12 participants, 8 using the WSU desktop iMacs and 4 who can bring their own laptops. We fill the slots first with current members, then open up the remaining spaces to the general public. There is no charge for these hands-on workshops. The next workshop will be held on May 28th.

The focus will be on learning the basics of the Mac operating system and its programs. The workshops are designed for those who are new to the Mac or need instruction or refresher work on the essential components. The classes are not intended for intermediate users. Each workshop stands on its own, so if you miss one or more of them you will have no problem attending any particular workshop.

The workshop will be announced by email and email reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to receive priority on space assignments and are not sure if your membership is current, contact PTSLUG treasurer Joe Braun. The presenter is Bob Snow, who can be contacted at sherman101@mac.com.
